A thank you from our MP
Tulip Siddiq, our MP, wanted to say thank you to HNCP ‘Community Heroes’ for the work we do in the community and invited us to visit her at the House of Commons on the 21st October. Her welcome and recognition of our work was much appreciated by all. Hatice wrote the following note expressing her gratitude which we all share.
We had the most wonderful evening at the House of Parliament it was truly unforgettable. Our MP, Ms. Tulip Siddiq, was incredibly warm and engaging with every guest, and with us too, of course. Her colleague Simon was also so kind and attentive they both made everyone feel so welcome.
It was one of those special nights I will always remember. Ms. Siddiq also mentioned that although she works Monday to Wednesday, she’s more than happy to step in and support us on Thursdays and Fridays if we ever need her help. Hearing that from such a busy and dedicated MP was really heartwarming it shows how much she genuinely cares about our community.
I also had the privilege to give a short speech about our centre, which was such an honour. The whole evening was filled with kindness, warmth, and a real sense of togetherness. I feel truly grateful and honoured to have been part of it.
A huge thank you to everyone who made it possible for me to attend it was such a privilege to be there.
With heartfelt thanks
Hatice
A great deal of effort has gone into setting up our new community centre on Bertram Street, which now offers a huge range of activities including sports and fitness, art and art therapy sessions, and a warm hub for residents. We’re also strengthening outreach with local partners and schools — including Moon Women’s Health — and celebrating the opening of a new community laundry this week. Alongside local residents, we’re also planning more tabletop events and a festive Christmas craft market.
